This, along with his academic background in investment banking and a degree from Clare College, Cambridge, means that he offers a unique perspective to his role as a leader in school acquisitions and independent school governance. This blend of expertise from financial and academic worlds equips him to drive innovation and foster growth in educational institutions; ensuring a bright future for students and communities alike.
Julian Fisher
Investor Director
Julian has worked in education in Asia for 19 years, including nearly a decade in a British school group, examining for the British Council, and cofounding the award-winning market intelligence consultancy Venture Education, which works with governments, universities, and school groups around the world. He has supported the growth of international school groups in Asia, and regional investors looking for education assets overseas. Julian is currently Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in China.
Ian Thornley OBE

Ian is a highly accomplished Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in corporate finance, M&A, and business development. He has been actively involved in numerous corporate finance and M&A transactions within the education sector. He is also a dedicated philanthropist, serving as a Trustee of the Wheelyboat Trust and holding a non-executive director position at Remploy, an organization supporting individuals with disabilities. Ian's contributions to society were recognized with an OBE award in 2016.
David Mansfield

David Mansfield is an extremely well-respected Headmaster and educationalist who has successfully led four different schools, most recently the leading bilingual school in China, YK Pao School, and Dulwich College Beijing; in the UK, he led two ‘outstanding’ schools. He has also been a Director of Cambridge Assessment, a member of the Court of the University of Essex, and CEO and Dean of the Buckingham International School of Education. David is a Freeman of the City of London.
